Canadian Professional Anglers Association

Tournament Scene

Charles Sim's Tournament Activities

Competitive fishing abounds in the Ottawa region, there are many organization holding competive events. Some are full fledged series, while others maintain a more club like atmosphere. These include:
  • Renegade Bass
  • Quebec Bassmaters
  • Pro Bass Canada
  • South Eastern Bass Open
  • Ottawa Valley South Bassmasters
  • Petawawa Bassmasters
  • Eastern Ontario Bassmasters
  • Bass Anglers of Ottawa
  • Bass Anglers Association
  • Ultra Bass Outaouais
  • Lefaivre Lions Club Open Bass Tournament
With all of these options available, it's easy to find an event to fish in in the Ottawa region. Some of these require membership to their club/organization while others are open to walk-ons.

Some anglers are intimidated by the concept of competitive fishing, thinking that you need a $50,000 bass boat to compete. Well that's not true. Attend any tournament weigh-in and you will see boats ranging from the $50,000 bass boat, to 12 foot jon boats with 9.9's on the back, and often it's these smaller boats consistently taking home checks! If you think you might like to test your skill, you should sign up for a tournament or two, who knows, you might be the next Bob Izumi!!

Rather than try to list all the information from each circuit and post the results from each tournament, I have provided links to the each site, where a site is available Throughout the year, I will try and provide as much information as possible from the tournaments I fish. The link at the top of the page will take to a Diary style log of my tournament activities.
